Dance Concept @ Club Colosseum,
By Stuart & Dylon

We arrived at the venue having enjoyed the previous months and looking forward to another night of D&B raving in a quality club. As usual for any Dance Concept, the venue was neat and clean throughout. The queuing was very quick due perhaps to the venue not being full to the rafters. I think this always helps a night as it leaves space to dance around rather then being a sardine in a complete sweatbox. The layout of the club was different from last time as the Garage room was on the balcony as you go up the stairs rather then in the long room.

As we entered the D&B room we were greeted by the sounds of DJ Triptonite and IC3 playing to the crowd. I have heard quite a few Triptonite sets before and as always he was playing to the crowds by dropping Original Nutter and Casino Royale. The crowd were starting to get excited as IC3 would ask "Raving crew now what you say?" Next up were the veterans, Demolition Cru playing all the classics of yesteryear. Brought back enuff memories after tune after tune like 6 Million Ways was dropped to the eager crowd.

The big man was up next. Mr Mampi Swift (Top right pic) played in typical style, what ended up being the set of the night! IC3 was now joined by MC MC who I haven't heard for ages. Im not sure if everyone was on MC MCs level but I thought he was intelligent, chatting when it was needed and shutting up at the right times, which some MCs don't seem to be able to do. One tune: BODY ROCK!!!!! Rewound was called. And then called again. We had reached the one thing we had arrived for. Vibes!!!

Stepping up next was the Dance Concept resident, Benny V. MC MC was joined by Mirage and the pace was picked up once again. Benny V played a mixture of upfront and classic Drum & Bass which seemed to suit MC MCs style a lot more. Tunes dropped included Zinc's "174 Trek", Shy FX "Funkin em up" and Bad Company's "Nitrous". Then "Burial" was cut in and the place went ballistic. The rewind was called and it was all systems go again. Det then took over and the place was getting "Down diggi down" in a big way. It was at this point I realised that Benny V had been playing for quite a while as the next DJ had obviously not turned up. He kept the fire burning playing more classic and modern tracks like Filthy Dirty Rich "Ocean" and Hypes "True Playaz Anthem". Det had the place jumping in his usual style and it was just a shame that Brockie wasn't there.

Phantasy then arrived and was joined by Eksman and Herbzie. There lively style kept the place brockin until the final tune as Phantasy served up a perfect set. We all agreed that the dancers were well worth a look at (big up the Nani Shakers) and I had loads of fun avoiding the film crew at all costs as I don't believe people are ready to see my dance moves on their TV screens. Overall we had a wicked night and we await with eagerness the date of the next Dance Concept. Big up the DC Cru and everyone who made it down there!!!
