Some heavy snow made me think that there wouldn`t be that many people
that night,
but when I arrived at the Aladin/Tivoli complex together with the first
bus of
djs and mcs at around half past ten, the queue in front of the venue
proved again
that no weather can hold back the Bremen massive from a party.
Inside
the venue
we had to make our way thru the dnb floor to get on stage.
DJ XL's set had finished, it was time for the mighty Bad Company (see pic top right), alongside with full vocal support from the talents
of MCs
Fatman D, Foxy, Eks and Stixman. Right from the start the dancefloor
was on fire,
dancing people on both of the levels in the dnb area, the atmosphere
was
incredible. The mixing was nothing to write home about, but the tracks
D-Bridge
and Maldini dropped were awesome. First rewind was Swifts Trippin and
the noise
inside was incredible. Highlights of their set were "Mutant 2001 VIP" and
their rmx
of "Atlantis", which was the last one of their set. Half an hour before
the end
of the set, the rest of the UK kru and Mampi Swift took
over on the
decks.
Last time I saw him I was a bit disappointed of his set, but
this night he
was one of the best! Alot of the stuff in his set was some of his own productions, but
it was
interesting to see that a producer can play a set of his own material and keep the crowd interested.
Right after him it was time for the man they call
Jumping Jack
Frost. I wasn`t really into his set, which was more in the vocal
direction
and a more calmer downtempo feeling. So I can`t say too much about his set and went checking out
the other
areas.
Finally I stayed in the oldskool area where DJ Unknown played so
many
anthems that it was too good to be true. Everybody was dancin,
lighters, horns
and whistles made it an absolutely unbelievable atmosphere in there.
Following
him was DJ "scratchmaster" Sy and he continued where Unknown stopped.
In the
middle of his set I tried to make my way back to the dnb floor, which
wasn`t easy
cos the whole place was packed.
At 4 o`clock it was time for DJ Dazee
and she
played the set of the night in my opinion. I wasn`t on my own, cos
everybody went
crazy, best selection and clean and tight mixing, BIG UP the rude girl
Dazee! She
was the third who play Trippin, but again it got the rewind, tune of
the night. A
big shout goes to the mcs, they did a very good job that night, all of
them were
rotating on the mic, Eks was also doing the 2Step area.
At half past
five DJ
Flapjack went behind the wheels of steel and played a one and a half
hour set
full of stuff like Hardware, Cylon, Ram and had all the people on his
side. He
finished at seven and we tried to get out to the bus, back to the hotel,
which
took quite a lot of time as the place was still filled up to the
ceiling. A
stressfull night was over but we had another unforgettable night!
Shouts and Big Up! to: XL, everyone at Lifeline, Dana, Timbo and
everyone from
Mo!s, the whole uk crew and Julian
