Meridian - Oasis (vocal mix)-

This just oozes class and smothers you with it throughout the track. What a wonderful journey back to the first outings of d&b maestro Omni Trio. This has huge pads with layer upon layer of sounds all blending together to perfection. It's those haunting childlike singing voices wandering around the tune that just mesmerise me. There are a couple of mixes of 'Oasis' on Meridian's page but I still feel that this is the strongest. A nice feel-good tune for the summer months!

Kid Kryptic "Dominate" www.mp3.com/kidkryptic

REVIEW BY: Sharee (Jungle Voodoo)
This kid's got some mad talent and I just know that he'll blow up someday. "Dominate" hones in on a sick groove early on with solid steppin' beats and ride hits.
Plenty of fx build an sonic landscape that you won't be able to resist. Multiple b-lines vie for attention while some morphing stings and echoey vocal stab create a little spook - just in time for the chop hop amens. Nice
one!

Cycom - Unspecified Enemy

REVIEW BY: Knowledge
Your habitat is being invaded by alien killa bees in a bad mood and they're after you my friend. Cycom is also after you and drops his beats like a ton of bricks onto you ears. 'Unspecified Enemy' is a morphing lover's dream. The basslines, analogue leads and beatz all get a distortion rinse-out done to perfection. This has to be one of the best tracks I've heard at mp3.com in a long time. It has all the elements of drum & bass that I love: a groove, a menacing atmosphere and great production. Cycom is also starting to get involved with Germany's Santorin label.

Spooky sound fx abound with deep subs with shuffeling breaks skattering like shattered china. Catchy hook too!

REVIEW BY: Knowledge
This track really makes you feel as if you've just knocked on Satan's door! There's frantic breathing, swirling acid 303 like madness, rattling of chains, a lost soul moaning and some freak orchestra faintly playing chords in the background. It's that attention to detail that attracted me to Inch's style. A great secret for amazing sounding basslines is to create one that sounds like it's talking to you and this one sounds like a really slowed down monks chant but it bends and twists later in the track. Along with the morphing breaks, it feels as though you're really dropped down into the land of the undead. To save your soul are some closed hats and they pull you out of the breakdown and back to the wailing of hell. This number is bad to the bone.
