REVIEW BY: Bazzy B

Love dis tune! A great piano opening with a roll of beats introducing a mellow and vibrant drum and bass track. A very instrumental piece that is sustained throughout with the shallow bass and beats keeping you in check. Four minutes doesn't do this justice, and another minute of madness would of rounded off a great tune.

"Kontact Kru [KK]" - Colour Traces (Smoked Out mix) -

REVIEW BY: DJ K-Mat

This is a truly wonderful record. Why the name 'Kontact Kru' I hear you ask? Well, let me tell you...band members:'Dead style, Twisted MC, Bio [rythm], DJ Scam, Arcc, and Reactor Grits' have never met face to face, stunned...so am I! Not only this the 6 rather talented collective come from 4 different countrie's including Norway, UK, Russia, and Holland. Proof that A: Drum and Bass is and always will be a global thang, and B: that the internet really does do wonders for the music/dance industry, hey we do our best:P

Band members 'DJ Scam' & 'Reactor Grits' on this one bring the collective they're 20th release to date, from the group's rather impressive 34 to date. This intelligent roller opens with long strings/sound effects and a piano synth that satisfies immediately. Out of nowhere a warm rolling b-line takes you on a ride, with great drum programming, and a wicked vibe. On the breakdown your hunger for more lush piano stabs/strings are met, and toyed with again when the track gets you jumping once more for the track's second drop.

These guys really are an amazing bunch, not only the fact that they produce just via the internet/online and using other means of 'Kontact' alone, but there other big bass offerings such as 'Strikebreaker' 'Mutant [the remake],' and they're latest mean killer 'Ghost Train' (KK034) really are great records!

This is without a doubt my favourite track at the moment, click ya browser's to 'KontactKru.com' & you'll see these guys aren't going anywhere but up, and expect to see them on this page again sometime soon. Someone please grab these guys, cos they're records should be spinning on turntables world-wide, and I want the 1st copy, absolutely criminal...

Jesus! Allow us to get into the tune why don't ya! This track hits you straight away, knocking you out like Naseem Hamed with an absolute socker punch. A very short tune, it packs as much bass and clashy beats in its 3 mins that it can. Maybe a downfall, but you get a taste of what this guy is capable of. Whurring basslines and jungle essence with a tad of voice samples creeping in, this gets a deserved review this month:)

"Phrantek" - Blanket of Shadows - [Click Here]
REVIEW BY: DJ K-Mat

Nice & steady lil experimental track here from LA based 'Phrantek' pushing the boundaries once again. Another record that really is something totally different to anything certainly I have ever heard, un-comparable as it is (as even he describes himself) I could only describe this track as cleverly spacey/atmospheric, yet uplifting! I have listened to this tune around 4 times now, as I like to get the track's into my head b4 I review, every time I take a listen, time seems to escape, *& no I'm not rubbered;D* this tune really does make you lose sense of time, mad stuff.

A new member of 'theDnB.com' and a personal acquaintance/friend of mine, I really do feel this guy is going to make all crews stop n' stand bewildered sooner or later, I have followed his back catalogue for a short period and even I have no doubt in my mind that he will continue to progress, as he always does & is.

'Phrantek' uses minimal equipment such as 'Fruity Loops' and other such programs to produce his music, which I believe he uses to their full capabilities! That and his talent/passion in producing/DJing suggests this is another one that isn't going anywhere, but up;)

"Silicon Lifeforms" by THE SYNTHETIC DREAM FOUNDATION [Click Here]
REVIEW BY: Bazzy B

Another weird track, that starts off with a slow building atmosphere and then introduces a tech step beat. But what interested me most about this production, was the way in which the artist has taken the instruments and re-invented them. There are some weird soundz going on in dis one, and you'll sit and listen to an amazing alamagation of different cutting and slicing elements. Not bad.
