Subatomic Sound System - Throbbing - [Click Here]
REVIEW BY: DJ K-Mat

This New York based group consist's of members 'Noah tha Riddim Doctor, and Emch aka Scientifik' with help from 'DJ Shok, Vikkly, and Hiro', bring a nice floaty mellow tune, which is the kind of track you'd expect to find on your average chillout album. It's soft but somehow heavy breaks sound very much like live drums, with slow low key male vocals that will lower the heart rate throughout. With musical influences from the likes of 'Roni Size, Aphex Twin, Photek, Mad Prof,' and John Coltrane' Subatomic Sound System describe their sound as 'Drum n Bass next level, blending hip hop, ambient and dancehall flavours with strong hooks and d-n-b beatz' to be frank the hip hop or dancehall flavours aren't on show here, but the 'ambient d-n-b beatz' most definitely are, and if there variety in producing music really is what they say it is, Subatomic Sound System will be a name to watch out for.

Cerebral Integration - The Simulacrum - thednb.com
REVIEW BY: Bazzy B

This tune has been canned all over. And it is not hard to see why. It comes at you from all directions, and is a well thought out production with the hardcore, drum and bass and electronic sounds integrated under the one roof. Everything is dropped into this one tune, and with very little breakdown time, you’ll be up on your feet for the entire 6 mins of the track.

RATING: 8/10

Mackie -Upskirt - (Gain Recs)- thednb.com
REVIEW BY: Bazzy B

Mackie and kru again set up this one on MP3 before they decide to release it via their much acclaimed label Gain recordings. And what a beauty this tune really is. With a fast and long beats and bass mix up, we are dropped some futuristic vocal samples and weird sounding synths that smash the tune into a frenzied abudance of clashing instrumentals. Another fine performance from Mackie here.

RATING: 9/10

Red MC - One Individual - thednb.com
REVIEW BY: Bazzy B

This is a weird tune, but clearly illustrates what the title is trying to get across, that we as an individual have our own idea’s and creativity. Which is clearly expressed in this nicely produced track. Introduced by what sounds like a modern computerised digeridoo, we are led into a piano and hard beats attack. Vocals samples being dropped here and there, this tune presents a more heavy and dark approach, while still maintaining it’s instrumental madness.

RATING: 9/10
