STA & Paul B - Nemesis - thednb.com

REVIEW BY: DJ K-Mat
Sweat sweat tune here, absolute killer infact. Moscow based STA
and
Paul B bring a nice steady intro that gets your attention
immediately!
It's spacey atmospheric intro continues throughout the track, spooky
vocal's and a high hit roll leads to a bass drop which really sets
the
pace. Funky, dark, and hard is the simplest way of describing this
track, but it is by no means just that. Not dissimilar to the
structure, feel and overall style to 'Ed 309' on the lastest
exteneded
player from the 'Usual Suspects' (The Lunacy EP), 'Nemesis' sustains
a
progressive vibe with a consistent bass line, which dirtyness hits
hard
and lasts. The breakdowns in this track also coincide with 'Ed
309'
with what some might say spooky, others might say amusing futuristic
Alien II style vocals, which makes the track stand out like a bally
dancer at a rave...Not that I've ever witnessed that of course,
would
love to hear from anyone who has;oD
When is this coming out on plate that's what I want to know, it's
experimental, not too mention a little different, but stick 'Ram' or
'Technical Itch' on the label and most tech step heads wouldn't tell
the
difference, well ok maybe not most but you know what I mean...;)

Star Wars….. for some reason when this kicked in, I thought of Star Wars (Think it might be sampled, am not sure). It certainly possesses that sort of theme around it, and the tune builds up with a marching rhythm and building bass. Then we are hit with an array of beats and drums with an intercepting stabbing synth, and of course the beginning star wars effect hits back in again to give the tune a breather. Would love to see this out on Vinyl.

A good breakbeat & experimental feel to this track, gave it a thumbs up from the bombsounds kru. A nice slow and cutting start, we see a number of futuristic elements introduced and sliced into the equation, creating a good electronic vibe. The only downfall, is the length of the tune, just as you are getting into the tune, it finishes, so it could have been longer, but nevertheless, and nice tune.
