Shy signs to Positiva
|

After a major label scrabble, EMI's Positiva imprint (once home to Adam F) have picked up Shy for his collobartion with T Power and r&B vocalist Di on "Shake Ur Body" which is now due on the 25th March complete with mixes from Future Cut and Digital & Spirit. Watch also for Shy's "Calling You," which is set to follow "Shake It / T Power Mix" now assigned with a 2002 release date (EBR23). The massive "Everything" is expected later in the year.

Decade Of Breaks Vol 4

Technique wideboys Drumsound and Simon Smith are next up on Formation with "Lazor Razor / Kilo" (FORM95), which follows the fourth volume of "Decade Of Breaks" series - "Temptation / MUSIC" from Sappo / Influx Datum. Watch also for the lighter remixes, which take the form of "Twisted Remix 2001 / SS Remix 1999" (FORM93). Watch out for the S Files from SS which contains "MA2 RMX 2001 / Dual Voltage remix / Motorways remix / Black remix / Rollige remix / Simplicity remix".

Reinforced - Paradox LP

The R continue to steam ahead with their second wave - watch for new singing Locus with "Playing Games / These Eyes" (RIVET181) as well as material from Skunkrock producers Native Minds and Alley Cat with "Can't Stop / Dream" and further cuts from Genotype & Snypolite "Deadly Pursuit / Low Riderz" (RIVET166) and Randall and Flex "Watertech EP / Journey Part 2 / Sniper / Eclipse" (RIVET172). Dev Pandya is back as Paradox at the R with his second album for the label nearing completion. Entitled "What You Don't Know," the album is scheduled with an April 2002 release date and currently features "Yellow As Hell / Chords + Discords / Serapion Brotherhood / A Funky Mule / Breeze And Soul / Syncopation / Sample Me.8 / Imaginative Revolution / Sample Me.9 / Watcher Watched / Sample Me.10 / Drumfunk / Challenge No Response / Sample Me.11".
Meanwhile, Dev's "The [Drum] Works 2 EP: Chords + Discords / Unnatural Causes / Odissea / Sample me.5 / Sample me.6 / Sample me.7" (RIVET 180) is expected in the New Year, to be followed by "A Funky Mule / You'll Never Learn" to promote the new LP (a first picture disc outside of the Enforcers). Watch also for a new CD series which captures recent catalogue to an album in the form of "Urban Jungle Soundtracks" with the first mixed by Stretch.

MOVE FM Go Global!

As Move have been receiving a great deal of interest from people on a world wide scale, they are pleased to announce that from today onwards 'MOVE FM' will now not only transmit via the FM airwaves to the whole of Leeds and surrounding counties but also on a world wide scale too! Their engineers are currently testing a live broadcast facility via the internet which will accompany the brand new 'MOVE FM' web site soon to be launched.

Reach Out Remixes
|

Zinc's classic "Reach Out" is to be remixed, with mixes from Zinc himself and Brockie & Ed Solo (TPR39). Watch for twelves from Cause 4 Concern, who step to the label with "Sarin." Zinc's "Present Tense EP" is due in February with the following "Casino Royale - The Remix / Ska / Attitude Sickness / Invisible Ink." Zinc's (currently untitled) debut LP is also in the pipe, with plates of a handful of tracks appearing in DJ sets. A CD of Ganja/Frontline classics is also planned for December/January.

Test Presses of Censor - Mackie V's Rareform will be hitting shops soon, out on NV2, so keep ya eyes peeled for the promo's. Also look out for Upskirt & Slap-A-Long by Mackie & Wrisk respectively, also to feature on NV2.
Things are looking good for the new sister label G2, and distribution meetings are taking place next week, Gain will keep you all informed. Look out for tracks on the label from Project 51, Substrata, Wrisk and many new producers.
Wrisk & Bubbla will be going to America for a gig on March 1st in Bloomington Indiana. Bubbla & Honk can also be heard at Pace on March 2nd, and at the Hexion in April. Also Coming soon a Gain night at @ Spectrum, in the Cage in Croydon.
All Gain DJ's can be booked through Spin Technicians now, featured alongside the mighty Future Prophecies, Rob F & Impulse, XO and Scope (Street Beats)

Jonny L signs up!

Goldie continues to expand his Headz up and coming schedule and, after much speculation, Loxy & Ink are set to step with the labels first double pack in March with the "Twisted Third Eye EP" featuring "Schizophonic / Shine / Twisted Third Mind / Delta Ras (METH44). Watch also for the first new material from Jonny L in some time, stepping to the label with "Synchronise / Phreak" (METH45) due in April to be followed by John B's "Up All Night (Remixes)" (METH41R) and Sonic and Silver's (aka Accidental Heroes) Headz debut for the label entitled "On The Anson / Into The Light" (METH46). Watch also for the new Metalheadz boxset, which is set to contain the third tracks missing from recent singles from Future Cut, Total Science, Invaderz, Marcus & St Files - rumoured to be due in the Autumn.

Nerve Recordings Updates

Nerve 2 is ready to go - the test presses are done and promo's
will be out on the shops very soon. Nerve 3 is looking like a couple of tracks by a new producer from Canada called
"Psidream", clips will be posted on their site within due course. Also Reset is ready to launch Nerve Breaks in the next month or so, first couple of releases will be his own material with remixes by Hedrock Valley Beats,
Hoista and Contax but nothing as yet, has been confirmed.

Skunkrock Update

Skunkrock have a hectic few months upon them with the Skunkrock Tour in full effect and a string of releases ready to hit the street. All tracks for Skunkrock's first EP "Crowd Control" are confirmed and those already finished are proving quite popular. Native Minds "Feels So Good" has been played by Fabio in clubs and on Radio 1 and A-Sides
remix of Alley Cat and Savine's "Captive" has been caned by the likes of Peshay, Randall, DJ Storm, Digital and is said to have impressed even Mr 'hard to please' Dillinja. "Serpico" by Zero Tolerance has had lots of
