Streetbeats Film soundtrack

You may have noticed that Streetbeats have suffered major delays as of late and the label sincerely apologise to all that have been expecting the SB22(Z-No/Blue-lalo,strength and stitch) release.This is due to a major change and revamping of its operations.But Streetbeats are happy to inform you, that as from the next releases they will be ditributed by SRD(southern distribution) . Noir will stay with Vinyl Distribution and expect Noir008(Z-No/Blue interference,firebreak) on promo this week.All other releases have been put back to the end of September as it seems that none of you buy any records in the summer!!!

Z-No have scored the soundtrack to a short film by Robert Morgan called "The cat with hands" due to be screened on Channel Four later this year.The film is a cross between the Brothers Grimm and David Lynch as is currently being screened at the Edinborough film festival. Blue and Raserblade have currently finished off a batch of no less than 15 new tracks all to be released over the current months.

Theres an addition to the labels ever expanding clan of talented artists, Vanna an excellent and versatile female vocalist has recorded a few new bits for Streetbeats having just worked with Full Cycle.Expect some sublime vocal drum and bass over the next couple of months. Streetbeats also starting our their new experimental Hip Hop outfit featuring all of our vocalists Louie G,Jay Raser and newest recruit Vanna.

Donovan Smith has now parted with the Streetbeats crew and Streetbeats wish him all the success in the world for his future projects. Also you can now catch Z-No members Djing non drum and bass at Kinglsey Marshalls new club/bar DECONSTRUCTED at the MI BAR in Truro, Cornwall along with other residents INERTIA,BLU MAR TEN,KINGLSEY MARSHALL and LEAF records.Any Cornwall massive out there are seriously advised to turn up for a relaxed evening of abstract Breakbeat,Electronica and other forms of modern urban jazz.

Inperspective - New Label

Inperspective Records is a new label dealing with all things progressive within the realms of drum and bass along with other more abstract music forms. Founded in 1996 by Chris Walton AKA Chris Inperspective and is now embarking on a new voyage of sonic purity.
Based in Brockley, South east London, artists for the kru include: ASC (Covert Operations, Nu-Directions, Good Looking) Pariah (720, Nu-Directions, Good Looking) Equinox (Reinforced, Brain Records, Scientific Urban Productions), Ochre (Covert Operations) and new signings Senses and Multistage with more artists to be confirmed.
The kru have plenty of things planned for all dnb headz, and we have been told this is to be the release schedule over the next few months:

Through the eyes of a scorpion

"Through the eyes of a scorpion" Teebee's second album release for the Certificate 18 camp, is set to be released on October 15th. We all remember the brilliant "Black science Labs LP" that contributed towards Teebee being crowned best International producer of 2000. Sonic & Silver

Sonic and Silver have signed over "Hard Times / Deep End" to Brill's imprint. Meanwhile the label roll on with the sampler for a forthcoming compilation on the label next up containing "Face Riders / Ghost Town" from Total Science and Digital. In another return to the old school remix, Digital has remixed Tango and Ratty's "Tales from The Darkside" November will see the label debut for Beta 2 "ETA / Soul Feeling" followed by the limited release "Jah Session" CD Sampler featuring "Ras 78 Digital mix 2" along with Q-Project with "Voltage". For December we then provide possibly the best Christmas stocking filler, with the full release of the "Jah Session" CD mixed by Total Science. This will feature all previously released function titles.

Flex Update

From the man who brought you the bongo frenzied ‘Freezin’ Point’ and the amen centric ‘Troublemaker’, Flex Records is proud to present Stranjah’s new E.P for all you dark, dark headz out there who have been bombarding the camp with requests for this artist. Flex’s Stranjah E.P is getting battered by everyone, especially Randall, Hype, Groove and Mickey Finn. The tracklisting is as follows: suspects, what you want, natty & infrastructure
The release date has been confirmed as 03.09.01, along with Flex 34 "Still Want Your Touch" by (Networx) which is to be released 08.10.01.
The Usual suspects, AK1200, phobia, revolver, stranjah and l double are all working on remixes which will appear on Flex and Rawuts in the near future, L Double is also working on a solo E.P and video project for a slammin’ vocal double pack, stay tuned for more info at a later date:)

Loxy and Ink sign to Metalheadz

Loxy and Ink are the latest artists to sign ip to Headz, watch for their "Skitzaphonic" due in 2002. Goldie has signed up and comers Sonic and Silver (aka Accidental Heroes) to Headz with their debut for the label entitled "Under The Sun." Watch also for Klute's "Curley Wurley / Splendor" and Invaders "Winter Sun / Controlled My Mind" (Metalheadz 42). Rumours also of a Metalheadz boxset, which is set to contain the third tracks missing from recent singles from Future Cut, Total Science, Invaderz, Marcus & St Files - rumoured to be due in the Autumn.
